Question : Outlook 2003 autocomplete pop-down not showing contacts

According to the Microsoft tutorial at URL:

http://office.microsoft.com/training/training.aspx?AssetID=RC010515461033

addresses in the Contacts should be listed in the pop-down autocomplete list (It shows this in the second slide I believe).  Outlook 2003 does not seem to function like this.  The pop-down list only shows previously used addresses.  Is this tutorial misleading, or do you have to do something to get the contacts to show up in the autocomplete pop-down?

Also, please note this is in a stand-alone enviroment.  No Exchange server or GAL is being used.  Mail is via POP3 connection.

Thanks,

Jeffery Smith

Answer : Outlook 2003 autocomplete pop-down not showing contacts

Within Outlook 2003, the auto complete option only works with names/email addresses that have already been emailed. If you want to make sure this option is checked, go to Tools | Options | E-mail Options | Advanced E-mail Options | Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields. Also, make sure your Contact List is setup to be listed as an Outlook Address Book.
