Question : .IFS files in Exchange 2003 DB folder.

Is there any reason for concern to see .ifs files in the Exchange 2003 DB folder? There are about 30 of them and most are dated from a couple of months ago. When we built Exchange we moved the .edb and .stm files to their own folder and drive array. The .ifs files didn't show up until roughly 7 months later. Any clues?
