For the purpose of testing some specific software we need to duplicate our domain controller (from production enviroment) to lab. Is there any solution available for migrating W2k3 SP system with AD to a completely different hardware? Regards Robert

On a functional level, itcoza's solution will be appropriate for most situations. However, if you want a true replica of your production environment, you can: -Install Windows on the test box (same disk layout) -Create a backup(-to-file) with NTBackup or your backup solution of the production DC's System State. -Restore this backup to the test server -The test server will probably not be able to boot. To fix this: -Boot from the Windows CD and choose a full repair; this will force detection of all new hardware+HAL, but keep AD intact. I've done this several times and it is a relatively quick-and-clean method,\
