Question : Internet explorer cannot open the  internet site mhtml:mid://

All of the sudden, my email does not work correctly.  I get
Internet explorer cannot open the internet site mhtml:mid://0000012/.  Invalid Syntax.  I can use the Properties, Details, Message Source to read, but that is a
pain. Any ideas as to what happened or how to fix?  Thanks.  Bryan

SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to open an e-mail message using Microsoft Outlook Express on MSN, The Microsoft Network, you may receive the following error message:


   Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site mhtml:mid://0000000x/.
   The protocol in this address is not valid.

   Make sure the address is correct, and try again.

CAUSE
The file Inetcomm.dll may not be registered in the Windows registry.



RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use the following steps:


Click Start, and then click Run.

In the Open box, type the following line for your version of Windows, and then click OK:
Windows 95/98 -------------



      regsvr32 :\\system\inetcomm.dll
where is the drive on which Windows is installed and is the folder in which Windows is installed.

Windows NT 4.0 --------------



      regsvr32 :\<%systemroot%>\system32\inetcomm.dll


    where is the drive on which Windows NT is installed and
    <%systemroot%> is the folder in which Windows NT is installed.

Click OK.

Restart the computer.
