Question : Hard Drive Size Limitation in Windows Vista

The motherboard in my HP Pavilion (Vista Ultimate) supports 4 SATA devices and an IDE device.  A SATA hard drive and SATA optiocal drive came with the system.  I've installed a Maxtor DiamondMax 300GB Ultra ATA/100, attaching the data cable to the IDE connector on the motherboard.  I've run MaxBlaster 5 to set up the hard drive.  The system is reporting the capacity at about 60GB (61496MB).  I changed the Access Mode in BIOS from Auto to LBA, however that made no difference.  Is there a problem with Vista recognizing the full capacity of large IDE drives?  Is there a problem combining SATA and IDE drives?  Is there a solution to access the full 300GB capacity of the Maxtor IDE drive?
