Question : IE launches and closes almost immediately

I've never seen this before. I've performed a clean install of of XP Pro on a Dell Latitude 820. I've performed all the patch updgrades from the Windows Update site as well as installing IE 7. TH eonly other things installed on this laptop are FileMaker 8.5 and Acrobat 8. After the IE 7 update I have this problem, as soon as I launch IE the window flashes up on screen for less than a second and then goes away. What the !#^!&#^!&# is going on?

Do a system restore to before you install updates of IE7, that should help.
