Question : Windows cannot find c:\windows\installshield.e<wbr />xe
Every time Windows boots up I get an error message. The contents of the error message are:
Windows cannot find "c:\windows\installshield.
exe". Makes sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click search.
the file is not located anywhere on the computer and I cannot find anywhere on experts-exchange that talks about this issue.
I have done a disk cleanup and gotten rid of all my temp files, I have run all the registy cleaners I can think of.
Help!
Answer : Windows cannot find c:\windows\installshield.e<wbr />xe
Hi,
Yes, change that userinit key under winlogon to just say: C:\WINDOWS\system32\userin
it.exe and not anything else.
AND, change your shell command to just say Explorer.exe
