Question : ipod reset problems

My ipod (recent gen) is locked on screen reading "do not disconnect". it will not reset with menu-select. it has a lock/hold icon showing-- even though the hold button is not on. any ideas?

I experienced this with an iPod a friend of mine let me borrow.  His was a first generation 60 gig iPod.  We were going on a trip and using iTrip when it froze.  I let it run out of batteries, and when I synced it up also received the same problem you are describing.

I again let the batteries run out, and when it started up again, it worked.  I would give that a try and see what happens.  Ideally, you would take the batteries out to reset it, but you can't, so the only way to do this is to let the batteries die on their own.
