Question : How to change the Outlook-2003 welcome-mail on the exchange server?
|
|
Hello, is it possible to change the content of the first mail that a new Outlook user gets when he opens Outlook the first time?
We like to do it on the exchange server, and not on the local machine.
Thanks a lot.

Hi, LuckyLuke57.
That email is created at the client not at the server, so I don't believe you're going to find a server based solution. In Outlook 2000 and, I believe, earlier the message was in a file that could be edited (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;293870&Product=out2KOL2000:). That was since changed and the filed mentioned in that article no longer exists. If I remember correctly the message is now in a DLL. The only solution I know of is to open Outlook once so the message is created, then delete the message and insert your own.
