Question : Optimum Webmail does not "autocomplete" in the "to" field

I have a user that has Optonline service at home and wants to check and compose email from her office computer. When composing an email, the autocomplete/autofill feature does not work in the "to" field. She has to go to her address book and actually select a name. This same feature works just fine on her home computer. This feature also works just fine on her computer at work when using AOL, Yahoo and MSN email, so I think it is something specifically related to Optimum and her browser configuration at work.
She is running XP Pro Serice Pack 3 and IE 7 fully updated at work and "autocomplete" is turned on in the browser.
Any suggestions?

Answer : Optimum Webmail does not "autocomplete" in the "to" field

Hello craigceg,

Check if IE7 is the problem in her office computer:
1. An addon may be interfering with IE. Disable Addons.  Go to Tools > Add-on Manager, and uncheck the addons.

If you cannot open IE, start IE without addons.  Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No add-ons).

2. Reset IE settings.  Go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced.  Click on "Reset" button. Click OK. Close all browsers. Reboot the computer.

3. Check if a program running in the background is interfering with Internet Explorer. Temporarily disable antivirus and other security programs, firewall, toolbars such as Google and Yahoo, and desktop programs such as MSN and Google.

4. If using Windows XP, uninstall and reinstall IE7. Make sure you have the latest updates.

5. Are you using IE7 in home computer, which works with Optonline?  Try another browser, like Firefox, on work computer.

Hope this helps!
