Question : can't export my access database because the file is read only?
|
|
I'm trying to export an access database and I keep getting a 'Cannot update Database or object is read only' error message. This export is from a linked table over in MS Excel and I checked the permissions for that file (as well as the .mdb file) and those permissions aren't set to read-only. I've tried multiple instances of this and the export only seems to work whenever I hardcode data into a database. Any ideas as to why that's the case?
I'm exporting this to WSS, however I'd like to think this problem would exists whereever I decide to export this file to.

Hello shuittny
Apparently, the method to update Excel files from Access is copyrighted, and not by Microsoft, for a change. In any case, you can no longer write to linked tables from Excel. Sad but true.
