Question : Trying to import media to restore system state using ntbackup

I am in the process of resetting up a server and have installed allthe patches etc. I am now ready to recover the system state and exchange store from the backup tape.

When I insert tha backup tape, i fnds it and puts in into free media. I am unble to move it or catalog it.

Any ideas on what I can do to catalog the media so I can restore. The medis is labelled and the system picks up the date and time it was backed up, but the only options I get is move to free media or eject.

Answer : Trying to import media to restore system state using ntbackup

Nope. The point is your catalog has been saved in local disk instead of the tape. Therefore, when you try to pull up catalog from different server you won't see it. That also the reason why I suggested you to run ntbackup command pringging up the apps instead of using the interface. When you run ntbackup command, by default the catalog is pulling out from c: (by default that is where it saved).
