Question : MS Exchange 2007 STD - download POP3 emails from Hosted email Server?

We are planning to migrate our small user base (30+ user) to Exchange 2007 email server, which we plan to have sitting in our LAN.

If our Internet access goes down, we plan to have emails delivered to our web host server and then when the link is back up, to have the Exchange server download the emails from our web host server? is this possible? i.e. can Exchange server download emails from external Pop3 email accounts?

We have been using OS X 10.5 and IMAP/SMTP  server for emails, the server is sitting within our LAN and pulls emails from our ISP using fetchmail.

In my experience if your link goes down and your mails get delivered to your web host server, then when the link comes back up, the web host server should automatically try to deliver mails to your exchange server.  If this is not the case, then you need to ask your web host server people to set this up for you, which should be relatively simple.

Alternatively, you would need to invest in a POP3 download program to pull messages from the web host.  I have used POPCON before - it is simple and relatively trouble free, but I am sure that others exist.  http://www.christensen-software.com/popcon.htm
