Question : 2005 Test Server Add new index timeout

I am adding a new index that is hopefully going to give me a performance boost in a new query.

Error Below???
'Transaction_Journal' table
- Unable to create index 'IX_Transaction_Journal_EntryDate_Batchid'.  
Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

This is an old box dual 866 PIII chips and a whopping 1 gig of ram.  Table is big for this system with 1/2 mill rows.

What am I missing in a setting?

Are you running this through Query Analyzer, if not try that.

Also what version of SQL are you using?

Is there anything in the ERRORLOG?
