Question : Internet Explorer won't open new window

I can't get IE to open a new window: right-click, select "open in new window", it opens just an empty, see-through frame of a new window but just hangs, with the hourglass showing.  Same if a link is chosen which attempts to open in new window.

I've tried: upgrading IE, using IE repair in Add/Remove Programs.  No help.

What version are you running, please?  The current versions of IE is 6.0.

Also, is WindowsUpdate current with patches and fixes for your environment?

Try clearing your cache (temporary internet files, history files).  Also recommend running maintenance (cleanup/scandisk/defrag) as well as scanning your system with an updated viruscan program to rule out any intrusions.

I'd also try changing my home page to a URL you know works to see if that helps you.  Sometimes this behavior can result if you are attempting to open a site with frames.
