Question : S-Video output on laptops.
Hi.
I've got a fairly old HP NC6000 laptop running Windows XP Pro SP3.
It's got an S-Video out port, which I can activate using a [FN]+key combination.
This will clone my desktop to the TV. Not a great image when running 1280x1024 on a standard res TV.
What I want to do is run video to the TV but have my laptop show my desktop. Shouldn't be too difficult.
But none of the apps I've got (Windows Media Player, Nero Show, VLC, etc.) seem to have any option to send data to the S-Video port.
In fact, the port doesn't even seem to be part of Windows - maybe I'm missing a driver, but I've nothing outstanding in my hardware device list.
Should I be able to send video (say by playing a DVD on the laptop) DIRECT to the S-Video out port?
Richard.
Answer : S-Video output on laptops.
Hi
There is supposed to be a setting under your display properties.
Check for a setting that says enable secondary display. There should be a few other settings you could playm around with
