Question : Flash Presentation Setup

So I'm about to start a fairly robust project requiring me to load in external swf files, as well as come up with a good transition between talking points, but my main concern is how to set this up structurally. I don't want it to take forever to load, so that's why I think I need to use external swf's (for some of the walkthroughs that'll be shown) instead of having everything embedded into the swf.

Does anyone know a good tutorials/URLs or have any good advice on setting up a presentation? The presentation will consist of some walkthroughs, talking points, etc for a product launch as well as use play/pause/prev/next controls, and just want to ensure that I it doesn't get bogged down with load times or become impossible to maintain.
