Question : What is "generic pup.g" ?

mcafee finds a pup called "generic pup.g"  but gives no details on it and does not remove it.  Anyone know what this is?  Thanks in advance....

"generix pup.g" definitions by McAfee would be called something else by other antiviruses/scanners.
It just means any Potentially Unwanted Program = PUP, so it could also be any trojans etc.

It could be located somewhere that McAfee couldn't completely cleared like the system Volume Information folder. If it is then you just need to flush your system restore points.

Let's look at your hijackthis log.
