Question : Cant download files from internet.
Good morning everyone. I have a computer that does not allow downloads from the itnernet. Whether it be an attachment from an email or a file from an FTP server, I receive error messages that the comptuer is not connected to the internet. This is quite confusing as you can imagine because I am writing this question from the very computer.
Originally, when my friend brought it to me, I suspected a virus. I installed the free versions of Malwarebytes and AVG and they foud nothing more than cookies and some inconsequential spyware. Something itneresting though. When I attempted to update Malwarebytes, I received the error message that the computer was not connected to the internet. However, AVG was able to update its definitions.
After uninstalling every last bit of software that I could imagine would be a problem, I then decided that IE 8 might be the culprit. I ran through its settings, and after finding nothing that points towards blocking downloads, I decided to uninstall it. So I am now on IE7.
Below is one of the errors I receive. ANy help on this would be greatly appreciated.
