Question : How to I change what the context menu "Edit" in Explorer refers to in Vista

If I rightclick on say a python file (.py) in explorer, I have the possibilities to open the file (meaning that it is run as a script) and edit it. However, the edit opens Notepad and I would like to change my default editor to Notepad++. In Windows XP this was easy (I do not remember how), but how is it done in Vista?

I do not want to install any software to do this. And I do not want to modify registry directly unless there is no other way.

You could instead use "Open with" and then add NotePad++ as an option.  That is what I have done with several different types of files (.txt goes to MetaPad, various graphic images go to IrfanView.)  See this page:
