Question : InfoPath and Outlook BCM
|
|
Hello experts,
I am trying to connect InfoPath to my outlook BCM database.
I cannot do that as I keep getting this error: "[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen(Connect0).]SQL server does not exist or access denied".
I am not an expert all I know is that when I install outlook BCM it install SQLEXPRESS 2005. I know that my server name should be "localhost" and the username and password is as my windows login. Maybe I am wrong?!
I would be thankful is someone can direct me what to check and how and finally to be able to connect to the BCM database.
I am using windows vista ultimate IIS 7 and office 2007 pro.

First I would use SQL Management Studio to Explore the database and verify the table you will need to connect to etc. Verify you have the correct permissions with your windows credentials to view the data, etc.
Usually SQL Express is not local host. It will be computername\SQLExpress That is the default by SQL Express but BCM could do something differently. It also may need remote connections turned on. You typically need to install SQL Management Studio seperatly but it is available from MS download
