Question : MAIL.curtisinvestments.com claims to be invalid hostname 'SMTP':

How do I change this on the server? I went to the fqdn tab on the SMTP Virtual Sever and checked it through DNS "mailsvr.curtisinvestments.com", and it seems ok, but WHERE the heck is it getting SMTP as the FQDN for the internal server?? I am completely puzzled where to change this.

Mail domain name is "mail.curtisinvestments.com", and dnsreport.com report the following error -

WARN Mail server host name in greeting WARNING: One or more of your mailservers is claiming to be a host other than what it really is (the SMTP greeting should be a 3-digit code, followed by a space or a dash, then the host name). This probably won't cause any harm, but is a technical violation of RFC821 4.3 (and RFC2821 4.3.1). Note that the hostname given in the SMTP greeting should have an A record pointing back to the same server.

Answer : MAIL.curtisinvestments.com claims to be invalid hostname 'SMTP':

Cisco had issues for years with the SMTP proxy product, MailGuard, on their PIX. Turning it off and allowing SMTP traffic to bypass it usually fixed the problems (usually dropped . commands, ending a message).

I don't have access to a FireBox firewall anymore, so I would be a bit nervous telling you what to do. There is an EE section that touches on firewalls. They may be able to help.
I googled some information that *may* help, but I can't endorse it or recommend it because I have been firewall illiterate for a few years.

I did check EE for articles regarding the Firebox II (if you are not a premium member, the membership is worth it just for the search feature and unlimited points...and I am not sure if they even sell points only memberships anymore):
