Question : jquery and php

Lets say there is a form you need to fill out just asking for the following fields email address and name what I want to know is using jquery how do i put a progress bar when the person clicks on save to process the data here is a screen shot of them

once the data is saved a message will come up saying your information was saved.
That is about it. If anybody can provide me a example or a tutorial on how to do this that would be great
