Question : IAS 2003 Radius connect problem

I am setting up a Radius server so my wireless clients can authenticate on the domain wireless when they are in the office.  I am running server 2003 and have installed IAS.

I added a new radius client and pointed the ip to my linksys wrt54g router,

In IAS new client:
I check the box request must contain the message authenticator attribute. and entere a shared password.

After that I created a new remote access policy.  Added Domain users and Domain Computers.  In the profile i setup PEAP with fast reconnect and EAP-MSCHAP v2.

I changed one of my domain users AD profile to allow acces to remote access permission.

the wireless profile is setup with WPA enterprise - AES
Under authentication tab I have PEAP type
In the properties of the PEAP type
validate server certificate checked
and Secured Password EAP-MSCHAP v2. configured to use windows logon

When i try to connect from laptop, I view available networks and hit connect.  It will say validating identity and then it disconnects after several seconds.  But after that point, the wireless network no longer shows up in the list.  It seems i have to restart my wireless to be able to see it again.

On my server 2003 security audit log, I get several messages when then laptop tries to connect.

Seccessful Network logon:
Username : DC2$ (which is the servers computer name) not the user profile that tried to connect

Than in the same second i get a message saying the User has logged off.

I am stuck at this point.  If i restart the wireless router, I can try again but same results.

Answer : IAS 2003 Radius connect problem

I have found the problem.  After much research, the IAS server was stopping after the user tried to connect.  I was getting an error message in the event viewer: IAS event id 2, Reason-Code = 262

Basically, in the IAS server there are 2 sets of ports and each set.
I dont remember them exactly off the top of my head but it was like 1812,XXXX.

Well basically, if u delete the 2nd set of ports(IE XXXX) it automatically fixed it.
