Question : POP3 Connector

I am running SBS 2003....I am trying to configure the POP3 Connector feature....but when I start the service I get the following message..." The Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes service on Local Computer started and the stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service". I have done this before but I have never encountered this error before.....Can someone please help me......This worth 500 points
