Question : windows checkdsk: Inserting an index entry into index $0 of file 30?

hi
 i have a server (2003) that when loading up goes into chkdsk because it is getting errors

when it goes into chkdsk it passes 1st test then continously sits at
 Inserting an index entry into index $0 of file 30

this never ends!

what can i do to resolve?

i get that everyonce in a while with my windows xp boxes, and it normally is a precurser to reinstalling the OS, as it is corruption in the tables.  If you have a disk scanning utility you may want to run it and see if it can clear it up for you, when i have seen the above it normally takes a few hours or so for it to go through all the indexs.
