Question : What is a PCI Early Non VGA device?

My windows 98 desktop locks up right after it loads, and i think it may be being caused by something weird in device manager "PCI Early Non VGA device"

Answer : What is a PCI Early Non VGA device?

found this
PCI early non-vga device is a VIA power management controller. ZIDA.com has the driver

Why do I always have the'PCI early non-VGA Device' in the'other' device ?
It is the STPC ADPC PCI agent. Windows95 automaticaly detects PCI devices. If you have a look to ADPC device ID in PCI config space you will find 0 witch mean non-vga early device! This ID is used whenever there is no predifined ID that match for a device
suggest you get the chipset drivers for your motherboard, from the mfg's website, and install them, and the error should go away
you may have to boot to safe mode to install them
