Question : Space Issue with Exchange 2003

I sent a great deal of email messages to all our customers last week  and has a result, the exchange server is creating a lot of files which start with NTFS with a file extension of EML. The are all residing in the Exchsrv\Mailroot\vs 1\Queue. The mail message was only a info mailer so it can be deleted but how do I clear these out of the queue or remove from my C drive?

Answer : Space Issue with Exchange 2003

In the Exchange System Manager, stop the Default SMTP Virtual Server,

then open a Windows Explorer instance, then navigate to the following

directory

\Program Files\Exchsrvr\Mailroot\vsi 1\Queue

There you will see all the e-mails in your exchange queue waiting to go

out (NTFS_hexadecimal-code.EML).

Select them all and hit delete.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WILL DELETE EVERY E-MAIL THAT IS IN YOUR QUEUE,

GOOD AND BAD!!*

When you're done deleting, go back to ESM and restart your SMTP server.

You should have a nice default queue status when you view your Queues in

ESM.
