Question : GroupWise 7 to Exchange 2007

Has anyone gone from groupwise 7 to Exchange 2007? I know the connector is gone for 2007 and Exchange 2003 doesn't "support" Groupwise version 7. But has anyone done it?
I have a client that is running groupwise 7 on suse using zen and had a corrupt virtual disk. They got their groupwise backup but it's not that stable and they would like to take the opportunity to go to Exchange 2007. Thoughts.

Answer : GroupWise 7 to Exchange 2007

Hi

I have a migration from Grouwise to Exchange a some years ago.

Now the Exchange is different, but i think the complement to migrate is the same

I remember that my font to learn how to was the http://www.msexchange.org site.

And the user the Quest tool to handle the migration, very power tool. But this was i think Groupwise 5 and Exchange 2003

Reading the quest site i see that they have now for the Exchange 2007.

http://www.quest.com/groupwise-migrator-for-exchange/features-benefits.aspx

Or other tool by nucleus

http://www.nucleustechnologies.com/migrate-groupwise-to-exchange.html

So if you want to use the tool, is faster, is safe, and reduce time to do the migration. But of course we need to by this tool. And you may not have the budged.

Take a look to the article from the  msexchange site. Is an article with 7 parts, but i think is a complete how to.

http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/migration-deployment/groupwise-exchange-2007-migration-common-q-a.html

This a difficult job, so you need to read all about how to.

If you have the possibility to test this in an test lab, i recommend. I have this first, have some tests, then i pass to the production.

Hope this can help you a bit
