SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transport Protocol. It allows you to send email to other people. I would of thought that all ISP's provide an SMTP server to send email.
POP3 allows you to receive email.
I cannot see you having any problems. What you would need to do is get an account with one of these free ISP's. They should tell you, either directly or via some support web pages the names of their mail servers. One of them will be for POP3 and one for SMTP. Change the settings in your Exchange Server to point to the new ISP's mail servers and hey presto you should get mail from that account.
If you are going to use this method then your email address will change. If you own your own domain, and you want to keep your email address then the process is more complicated.
