Question : Fn Key on Gateway 600XL is inside out!

I have a Gateway 600XL running Windows XP SP2. My Fn key has turned inside out. Pressing Fn and key associated with it results in the non-Fn key value. Likewise without pressing the Fn key, I get the Fn key value. I believe the physical key is good. Norton and Trend Micro can find no viruses. I find it strange! This started yesterday after turning on a new secure wireless connection - my guess unrelated. Any ideas???
