Question : Disable Download prompt in IE For Certain file extensions

Hi All,

I am trying to turn off the open or save prompt for a certain file type so that when our users click on a link, the file type is automatically opened by the right application.

I can not get this to go on either XP, P Pro or Vista.

For example I am setting the fille type option via the Tools-->Folder Options method. All my googling shows that works for other people but not for me.

WRT to Vista I have also done the registry changes via suggested via various sites with no joy.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks!

Mike

Answer : Disable Download prompt in IE For Certain file extensions

The only think I can think of is..
Put the site in the trusued site group of IE..

When tou open a document then on the IE prompt there is a tick box that says "Always open this file without asking" or something like that!..
If this is unticked then next time anything with that extension will automatically open...
