Question : Vista Business Remote Desktop "error in licensing protocol"

I am setting up a new client on a windows server 2003 network. On the network I have a terminal server running on a windows 2000 server. When I try to connect to the terminal server using the vista remote desktop client I get the message: "The remote computer disconnected the session because of an error in the licensing protocol." I have tried deleting the MSLicensing key in the registry and I have tried the enablecredsspsupport:i:0 fix in the default.rdp file. No luck either way. XP clients connect to the terminal server perfectly. Any ideas?

Answer : Vista Business Remote Desktop "error in licensing protocol"

As per this, Vista uses only per user CALs, so the licensing model on the server may need to be changed. You may also be able to copy the MSLicensing registry entry from an XP machine and then reset it on XP machine by deleting it.

Yet another solution would be to use mstsc from ReactOS (which is an open-source implementation of win32 api and applications). You need to download the iso file from www.reactos.org, extract reactos.cab from it and then extract mstsc.exe from it. (I would have attached it here, but EE doesn't like anything that contains *.exe )
