Question : Connecting two computers with serial-serial/parallell-pa<wbr />rallell cable
|
|
Hi.
When transferring files between two computers I use a cable that can be connected to a serial port on both computers or a parallell port on both. Is one of the connections faster than the other one? (I usually use serial to serial connections, because those are usually not occupied, but the file transferring then is very slow..)
Thanks

A parallel port will be faster than a serial if you have a good cable. For much faster performance, I would recommend a USB cable connection which will provide you superior performance compared to either of the previously mentioned alternatives. However, both computers must be run Win98, or later, and have USB connections. Setup is easy using the Direct Cable Connection Wizard included with Win98.
