Question : dns zone keeps coming back after being deleted from DNS
|
|
We are receiving DNS warnings on two of your remote site DNS servers: Event Type: Warning Event Source: DNS Event Category: None Event ID: 4521 Date: 8/27/2007 Time: 12:18:03 PM User: N/A Computer: SERVER Description: The description for Event ID ( 4521 ) in Source ( DNS ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: 32, avidonline.org.
avidonline.org is a zone that no longer exists. I took a look at the dnscmd but wasn't quite sure what command I need to use. I want to just get rid of it completely. We have a zone right now, avidcenter.org that we use. avidonline.org just keeps coming back when we delete it from DNS. Are we deleting the zone the incorrect way? It was an Active Directory zone but it just keeps coming back to us. Any help would be great.

Also, I've seen people remedy somewhat similar situations from the command line with:
dnscmd /config /bootmethod
