Question : Oracle shared memory realm not found
|
|
First off, please pardon my ignorance of the intricacies of Oracle administration. At one point we had a real DBA, but no longer. We have 2 Linux servers running Oracle 9.2.0. on our primary server, we have 2 databases available, one for production, and one for a demo site. On the other server we keep our development database. I am able to connect to production and demo through SQL Plus Worksheet, but not our development database. The connection fails with the following error:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory
JDBC connections do not work either.
Strange thing is, this server was up and running just yesterday, and I have made no changes. As I stated above, I know very little about Oracle administration, and have no idea where to start looking for a solution to this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
