Question : Outlook Address Book/Global Address List Issue!

Dear Experts.

I am having an issue currently with out Outlook/Exchange. I apologise if this is related more to Exchange than Outlook and therefore this question has appeared in the wrong section.

If I can explain the situation and then hopefully it will be filtered to the correct section.

I have recently migrated all of our users from running an Exo Server/POP3 Mail server with MS Outlook to Exchange Server 2003 and Outlook 2003. Obviously we had no existing Exchange environment therefore I created the mailboxes and the imported all of the emails via the PST option.

This has worked fine and we are now running on Exchange 2003 with a Global Address List and Public Folders etc. (My job is so much better now!!!!!).

There is just one slight issue that I believe is linked to the migration.

When a user goes to email someone and the click on the "To" button. As default the Global Address list is displayed. Thats fine as I want that to happen and I can also change that if someone would prefer it to open in a different place.

What they would like to do is click on the Outlook Address Book and then view their contacts that have been imported and are being displayed in their "Contacts" section. However when you select Outlook Address Book, nothing is being displayed, yet obviously there are all of their personal and other such contacts being displayed in the contacts option.

I imagine that the Outlook Address Book and the Contacts are totally seperate entities, but how and where can I import the contacts into this option.

I also thought that maybe if I reopen the old pst file and maybe some bring them across that we it may work, but you still can't see them or select the old PST file contacts/address book.

I hope this is clear enough and also makes sense as this has been bugging me for a while now. I have looked around the web and on the MS Knowledge Base, but the results are for different issues and are no way related to mine.

If anyone can help me on this matter I would be most grateful.

If you need anymore information then please let me know and I will be happy to help.

Regards,
Ross.
