Question : How to enable 'prompt yes or no' to update links in Excel 2007?
User has Win XP SP2 and upgraded to Office 2007 SP2. He shares spreadsheets with other users that still have Office 2002. Under Excel 2007, same spreadsheets and links, no prompt is given and the links are automatically updated. With Edit Links, there is an option to prompt the user but this seems to be ignored.
If he logs into another computer and uses Excel 2002, with different spreadsheets and their associated links, he gets a prompt on whether or not to update links.
Is this a function dependent on the spreadsheet, links, or program? He would liked to be prompted before an update as sometimes he wants to view the spreadsheet but not necessarily update the links.
Thanks.
Answer : How to enable 'prompt yes or no' to update links in Excel 2007?
Talked to user. He will continue using the spreadsheet as is. Now that his department has upgraded to Office 2007, he'll work on converting the spreadsheet over to *.xlsx. We can close this issue. Thanks for all the help.
