I need help to speed up torrent downloads. The fastest i ever get is about 35Kbps. I have an internal network behind a NAT firewall (with DSL modem) I have a static ip. I have forwarded ports 6881-6889 tcp/udp.

Answer : slow torrent

In that case my guess is that the slow speed is as a result of network congestion upstream of your modem. That could probably be proved by looking at the directions and time stamps of the torrent packet traffic with a sniffer (like tcpdump or ethereal). If your system looks like it is waiting on data packets the problem is most likely upstream.
