How to track the origin of an email

is there a way to find out the rigin of an email.
I mean from which country /location it has been sent?
let's say I am using Hotmail or Yahoo how do I know the origin of the email I receveid?

Answer : How to track the origin of an email

Correct, which is what I pointed out in my original response. You can only know what SMTP servers the message travelled through to reach the recipient's server.  There is no way to determine where the sender is physically located, only the servers. The exception would be if the sending is using a POP client, which uses SMTP to send. In that case, you would see the sender's IP in the header.
