Question : IIS Virtual SMTP server not sending. Mail stuck in mailroot\queue folder.

Hi Experts,

About my setup. Only one Server runs Windows 2000 Adv Server, MS DNS, IIS(web/ftp), MS SMTP(iis). I do not have any other email server software installed.

The error message: Message delivery to the remote domain 'yahoo.com' failed for the following reason: The remote server did not respond to a connection attempt.

This happens on all domains with all email, not just Yahoo.com.

I have tested DNS at www.DNSReport.com and it seems to be fine. I can do NSLookups and they seem to be fine as well.

This same server has worked for about a year solid now. No other software has been recently installed. All the correct ports are open. I can also telnet into port 25 and send HELO.

WHen i telnet in and try to send an email from postmaster@mydomain, i get sender ok.
Then when i say RCPT TO: [email protected] it says 'Unable to relay'.

Thanks in advance experts.
