Question : Internet Connection is OK; Internet Explorer Does Not Work

I know my brother's Internet connection is OK because he can read new emails through his VPN connection to work.  However, whenever he opens the IE browser it tells him the pages are not available.  He said that at one point a window popped up and asked him to update his computer and he clicked the button and now everything is broken...so that leads me to believe it is spyware or something like that.  What settings can I check to fix it?

Very strange, but glad to see you found a solution. Could be a corrupted install of SP3 though. Try reinstall it and see what happens.
