Question : Easy? Force Text to spill into the next cell

Normally people want to avoid having text spill from Cell A5 into A6, but for my particular application, I want to MAKE this happen.  What properties of formatting (if that is indeed the mechanism) control whether text spills or not?  Is there any way to MAKE text spill over if it currently is not doing that?

Does your cell contain a text string (which ought to spill) or a number (which definitely won't spill)? The hash marks are consistent with a number, not text.

You can custom format a cell that contains a number to display text before or after the number--but it's still a number in that cell, and it won't spill.
