Question : Issue within word 2007 regarding tables, formulas and fields

I have inserted a table into a word document, within the first page, all formulas are updated, for example (=C7*B8) but when I copy this formula in a 2nd page, it does not update and gives the error !C7 Is Not In Table. I would like to find out how I can get around this. I recall in excel being able to direct the formula ex: (=sheet1!C7*B8).

Answer : Issue within word 2007 regarding tables, formulas and fields

Word does not work like Excel with references.  If you need to have your results from your Table Calculation used in other places you should:

Highlight the Cell Formula field in the Word Table
Insert a Bookmark (Select the Insert Tab. In the Links section click Bookmark)
Click where you want to insert the result.
On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Quick Parts, and then click Field.
In the Categories list, select the Links and References category.
In the Field names list, select REF.
In Field Properties select the name of the Bookmark.
Click OK.

Since Word does not act like Excel, automatic calculations do not occur.
To update the fields when you make changes:
Press CTRL+A
Press F9

NOTE: This is assuming you are using a Word Table.  If you are using an Excel "Table" pasted into word, this will not work.  You cannot reference the Excel Object in Word because it is an object.  You would have to paste link the Table from Excel and the cell thereby establishing 2 links.
