The WMI Performance Adapter allows users to query performance information on remote machines using Windows Management Instrumentation.
While some Microsoft products such as Systems Management Server may use this information, it is typically not used during the course of normal OS operation.
I would recommend the following: 1) If you are using any products which collect performance data remotely, check their error logs for signs of problems. 2) Check the machine(s) with the reoccuring error messages for any indication of performance issues - low hard drive space, high memory usage, etc. 3) If you do not specifically need this functionality, disable the service using Computer Management, and watch for errors in any other applications which may have been sending the WMI Performance adpater start messages.
Sorry that I can not be more specific, but I don't know much about the system in question, its operating environment, or your needs.
I hope this helps. -Jeff
