Question : Offline files behaviour

Hi,
I changed the target folder location of a domain users "My Documents" folder so that it resided on H:, a drive mapped to his personal folder on the server. This automatically set all his My Docs files as Offline files, which is what I am accustomed to when I have done this many times in the past.

Normally, the Offline files are synched when the logging on and off. All other times the local version of the files in the offline files cache is used. However, in this case, each time the user opens My Documents, there is a long delay (about 30 - 45 seconds) before the folder opens, and there is network communication during the delay. This leads me to suspect that either the folder is synching in the background when it is accessed, or the local version is not being used and the copy on the server is being accessed in real time. The folder has over 2700 files about 2.25GBs in size.

What is going on and how do I get the local version of the files to be used?

Thanks,
Bill

Answer : Offline files behaviour

I figured it out: For some reason, the amount of drive space allowed for file caching under Offline files settings was less than the actual amount of data in My Documents. Once adjusted up to a size that would allow all files to be cached it runs normally now.
