Question : Moving from E10K to E15K
|
|
Hi folks thank you for taking my question.
I am moving from an E10K with 400 Mhz -- CPU's to E15K with 1.2 GHZ Cpu's What is the ration of cpu's that I should use.. say I have 10 X 400 mzh should I use 5 1.2mhz or is it a 3 to 1 ratio. Please advise.
Also, in an E15K if I have 10 system boards 3 in domain 1, 3 in domain 2, and 4 in domain 3 then I need more in domain 1 can I take from domain 3 while system is running and give it to domain 1 or I could only add to domain 1 if the system board is sitting idle.
Please advise.
thank you much

it really does not matter what CPU ratio u should use.
u can have 3 to 5 1.2 Mhz cpu boards. depending upon how many u can afford and how fexible u want your domains to be.
if u have Dynamic reconfiguration enabled in solaris then u can add cpu boards and system boards in running system.
it mean u can take out the board from domain 3 and can add to domain 1, without shutting down any of the domain.
