Question : Remotely Managing Scheduled Tasks (schtasks.exe) on Windows XP Home
Network Environment: All computers in workgroup: WORKGROUP (we do not use Active Directory)
Three computers are running XP Home edition.
I'm in charge of three computers on our LAN that have been designated for running tasks scheduled by the windows task scheduler (vbscripts) that download and process text files.
It'd be very helpful to me if I could remotely manage the scheduled tasks, but security settings in xp home do not allow me to. I get consistent "not authorized" or "permission denied" errors everytime I attempt to query or execute the tasks on these xp home machines.
example query: schtasks /S xpHomeComp1 /U admin /P adminpass /query /FO CSV /V
Is there any way to enable remote management on xp home? Thanks.
