Question : XP Internet Time Synch Interval

I work in a time-critical business where we must have the exact time on our XP Pro machines; and we'd like to do this with the Internet Time synch feature instead of third party software. How does one go about increasing the interval for synchronization in XP Pro with an Internet Time Server from the default of 7 days to, say, every 3 hours?

I've read the MS KB article referring to W2K, but can find nothing on XP Pro.

Answer : XP Internet Time Synch Interval

The answer from stevenlewis is great.

Just remember that default value is 604800, which is the number of seconds in 7 days.  To change to 3 hours, you would set

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpClient\SpecialPollInterval

to 10800 (decimal!).
