Question : Port 80 traffic not getting through router?
|
|
I have a 2wire 2700HG-D DSL modem/router. I've set one of my PCs to allow port 80 traffic. It looks like this in the router:
Web Server - TCP 80...192.168.2.101
However, when I type in the external IP for my network, nothing gets through. After a few seconds, I get redirected to Google's search engine with my IP address entered in as the search critera. Locally, I can connect to the web server via the 101 IP address. I've turned off the PC firewall and still no luck. I had this working previously but than had to reset the router.
I also can't connect via remote desktop from the outside, port 3389, which is setup in the router as well. I can connect locally on the network via remote desktop.
On the PC, I'm running Vista Ultimate with IIS 7. I can browse locally on that machine as well.
Any ideas on what I'm leaving out to get it working?
Thanks, Brett

If both windows firewall (assuming thats the only firewall you have) and the router are setup to allow port 80, then I am lost on this one, since those are really the only 2 things that would block it.
